From silicon to systems.

ParallelCascade is one company with two clear doors: Electronics for integrated circuits and embedded products, and Systems for operational software, hardware and custom AI. One specialist practice, founded in Portugal in 2018.

From a specialist contract to a practice

ParallelCascade was founded on 21 August 2018, when its founder chose to go independent and build a practice around senior, hands-on engineering judgement, the kind that catches the expensive mistake before it is made. It started in the discipline he knew best, analog integrated-circuit design, with a layout engagement at S3 Group, later acquired by Adesto.

From that foundation it grew. ParallelCascade has since worked across analog integrated circuits, low-power electronics and embedded systems for semiconductor and product companies including Knowles, TKS Agri and Nanopower, brought in where power, noise, cost or validation risk decides whether a product succeeds.

As clients came to need more than a chip (operational software, dedicated hardware and AI that stays on their own terms), the Systems branch took shape. Today ParallelCascade delivers across both, from silicon to systems, and commits part of its capacity to non-profit organisations such as Encontrar+se.

Mission

ParallelCascade turns deep technical complexity into working systems, from integrated circuits and embedded electronics to operational software, hardware and custom AI. We exist to help teams make the right technical decision early, then build systems that survive real use.

Who runs it

Américo Dias

Founder · Electronics & systems engineer · Executive MBA

Américo Dias founded ParallelCascade. His engineering work spans analog and mixed-signal IC design, low-power embedded products and operational systems. A double-degree Executive MBA (Porto Business School & Kozminski University) adds the management judgement that real project execution needs alongside the technical depth. Engagements are staffed to fit the scope: an assembled team of specialists when the work needs it, Américo directly on focused reviews.

How we work

  • Technical truth before convenience.
  • Architecture before implementation.
  • Specialised systems over generic tools.
  • Small useful systems before platform fantasies.
  • Clear boundaries for data, hardware and responsibility.

Send the problem: electronics, systems or something that crosses both. If it is a fit, the first step is a short, scoped review.
